Almustaqim Balogun

Communications Associate, Student Energy

Almustaqim Balogun is a development journalist from Nigeria, with over 3 years of experience promoting Sustainable Development Goals. He strongly advocates for quality education and climate change. He also uses media to bridge the communication gap between science, policy and society. Balogun aims to influence climate and environmental action.

Almustaqim is an Earth Charter young leader and possesses cross-sectoral insights into global development. Prior to joining Student Energy, He interned at Paris-based The Energy Action Project, a non-profit that investigates and reports on global energy issues. He also had engagements with The CARROT Co., World Literacy Foundation among others. He is the founder of The Lens for Social Change, an initiative that uses storytelling to inspire positive behavioural and community actions.

Almustaqim is interested in building the skills and capacity needed to effectively communicate climate and environmental issues. He is passionate about the energy transition, biodiversity and ecosystem restoration and environmental justice.

In his free time, Almustaqim loves watching global news, reading articles on international development, volunteering in community projects. He also loves football and is a huge fan of Chelsea Football Club.
