The Future of the Energy Industry in the UK

Professor Freer is the director of the Birmingham Energy Institute. His talk focused on the current energy industry within the UK, and also focused on what needs to change in order to tackle the climate crisis. It included statistics and facts and figures, and highlighted the policies in other countries to compare with the UK. Following on from his presentation, the attendees had the opportunity to have a Q&A session with Martin, followed by pizza. Before the main talk, our society president Olly gave an introductory presentation highlighting the society, and encouraging attendees to buy memberships – as a result, we gained an additional 13 members through this event!
