Airee is a team of young activists and scientists integrating locally sourced wool air purifier with a natural algae air washer to prevent air pollution related diseases in the 2.3 million living in lethal air pollution. We are mobilizing the opportunity to improve nomads’ livelihoods by creating a scalable value-added product out of sustainably sourced wool, a filter for indoor air purifiers. 

The modern lifestyle requires us to spend 80-90% of our time indoors. Ulaanbaatar population is exposed to building related diseases from poor ventilation and outdoor air pollution 100 times the WHO guidelines, where indoor air is five times worse than the outside. As a result, miscarriages are 3.6 times more likely to happen during pollution season and over 3,500 children suffer from pneumonia annually. Fresh air should not be a luxury. Especially in the safety of your own home or in the delivery room where your baby will take their first breath. We focus on the following 3 pillars of sustainability:

Airee is the first-ever organic algae and wool-based indoor air purifier and humidifier. It purifies and humidifies Mongolia’s dry, non-ventilated indoor air using locally sourced sustainable raw materials. 

“The necessary infrastructure that will ease the assembly of our product has not been established in Mongolia. This means we currently need to prepare and supply our raw materials. However, we believe the formation of relevant NGOs and federations will open up many opportunities for us.”
