Student Energy Green Jobs

The Student Energy Green Jobs program provides wage funding, training, and financial support for youth advancing sustainable energy who are entering the green jobs industry.

Program Overview

Supporting Youth to Access Green Energy Opportunities

Student Energy will provide employers with wage subsidies and youth with training and wraparound service funds to promote engagement and create jobs in the clean energy sector. Full-time roles in Canada lasting at least six months promoting sustainability in the energy sector will be supported.

EMPLOYERS

Sustainably add new perspectives and capacity to your team today!

You can receive up to $21,500 covering wage and mandatory employment related costs for a new role on your team, and access a pool of youth applicants completing Student Energy training programs.

Apply to the program today to support hiring a youth (aged 18-30) to work in the Green Economy.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Organizations include:

  • Organizations in the natural resources sector
  • Legal entities incorporated or registered in Canada, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations
  • Indigenous organizations (including Band Councils, Tribal Councils and self-governing entities)
  • Provincial, territorial, regional, and municipal governments and their departments and agencies

Eligible roles include:

  • Roles that protect the environment or are invested in delivering positive environmental outcomes
  • Roles that offer youth full-time (minimum 30 hours per week, some exceptions may apply) quality employment or skills training opportunities for 6 to 12 months, starting in 2025
  • New positions, creating additional opportunities and capacity on your team

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Youth are:

  • Between 18 and 30 years of age
  • Able to work in Canada
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have refugee status
  • Available to work at least 30 hours per week (some exceptions apply)
