After launching the first successful International Student Energy Summit in 2009, Student Energy has expanded into a global youth-led organization empowering the next generation of leaders, accelerating the transition to a sustainable, equitable energy future. Student Energy’s key programs include energy education with our groundbreaking digital Energy System Map, Chapters, and International Summits to build long-lasting communities that facilitate meaningful youth engagement and bring youth together.

With our growing global youth network guiding us, Student Energy’s Programs are expanding while continuing to deliver on its youth empowerment model and providing spaces where youth innovation can thrive. At the heart of every Student Energy program is the mission to create change agents aligned with our Theory of Change. We are dedicated to delivering programming that empowers, imparts knowledge, teaches skills, and provides funding to youth worldwide, thereby creating a generation of change agents. 

To reflect this, our programming has expanded to include core energy systems education and building future work skills through our Fellowship, Guided Projects, and Career Training programs. We also scale innovative ideas, close data gaps, and engage youth within the research projects. Through SevenGen empower Indigenous youth and energy kin to cultivate stronger connections and shared energy visions. The ultimate goal is to responsibly and sustainably impact the global economy and energy landscape for the greater health of all entities on Earth.

Student Energy works closely with youth in these programs to properly equip them with the resources needed to participate meaningfully in the youth energy space.
