Announcing Student Energy’s 2025 Annual Report

Student Energy is excited to announce the release of our 2025 Annual Report, highlighting the progress we made last year in empowering the next generation of leaders to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, equitable energy future. Read on to learn more about some of our key highlights, or click below to check out the full report!

The theme that guided Student Energy’s 2025 Annual Report, and our work last year more broadly, is “Adapting with Intention, Growing with Ambition,” representing our intentional shift away from simply doing more, and instead deepening the quality, sustainability, and reach of our core programs. At the same time, the release of our Vision 2030 exemplifies our strong commitment to scaling our programs and maximizing our collective impact in driving the clean energy transition. We’re thrilled to share our 2025 Annual Report with you all to showcase how we’ve been delivering on these commitments to date!

Highlighting Our Impact in 2025

Here’s a quick sneak peek at how Student Energy advanced on the strategic priorities outlined in our Vision 2030 last year, and across our global ecosystem, through five key accomplishments.

(1) We continued to scale the scope and impact of our global youth network, reaching more than 6,200 young people from 81 countries across our ecosystem of programs and growing our Chapters network to a total of 60 worldwide;

(2) We helped to foster intentional spaces for youth dialogue and collaboration on energy through the first-ever Virtual Youth Impact Forum, which welcomed more than 1,000 youth, and made meaningful progress on plans for the next editions of the Student Energy Summit and the SevenGen Indigenous Youth Energy Forum;

(3) We deepened our approach to place-based work, ensuring that interventions are rooted in and responsive to the specific needs and realities of different regions through the launch of two new programs—the Student Energy Career Training (SECT) Women in Energy Africa program and The Clean Economy Bridge (TCB) Research Program;

(4) We contributed to more accessible clean energy career pathways and sustainable youth-led energy solutions, distributing almost CAD 750,000 in wage subsidies and CAD 92,000 in direct-to-youth funding via Student Energy Guided Projects to support community clean energy projects, alongside providing more than 600 hours of coaching and mentorship;

(5) We enhanced our suite of dynamic, freely accessible energy education tools, bringing energy information to a broader audience of youth via the Energy Voices podcast, while our Energy System Map reached 14.32 million total lifetime views; and

To top off a very successful year, Student Energy was also recognized for our achievements and contributions to youth participation in the clean energy sector, receiving the prestigious Governor General’s Innovation Award alongside two Sustainable Buildings Awards.

As we now move towards the end of 2026, we’re excited to continue accelerating meaningful progress towards our Vision 2030 — a world where young people are at the forefront of the clean energy transition — by scaling our investments into young people, contributing to more accessible and equitable workforce development pathways, instilling a deeper sense of community across our network of young changemakers, and institutionalizing more inclusive and youth-responsive policy processes.

We’re so grateful for the continued support of our partners and youth network, without whom all of these incredible achievements would not have been possible!

Stay in touch with us as we share exciting updates from across our ecosystem over the next year, and beyond.
